Susannah Brown Talks Central Coast Priorities on Hometown Radio (KVEC)

On January 12, 2026, I joined Dave Congalton on KVEC’s Hometown Radio to discuss the issues currently shaping life on the Central Coast, including housing, infrastructure, energy reliability, water supply, and education. Below is a brief overview of my background, why I’m running for California Assembly District 30, key topics discussed, and where you can listen to the full conversation.

My Background I was born and raised here in San Luis Obispo County - attending elementary, junior high and high school here locally. As I grew older, I got more involved in the community. I started attending Chamber events, received my master’s degree in Analytics, attended board meetings and was part of advocacy groups whose priorities were focused on housing and education.

Why I'm Running as a Democrat As a Democrat, I believe a healthy democracy allows respectful differences that are focused on outcomes. Many people across the Central Coast feel that Sacramento policies are not translating to real solutions locally. I’m running to bring a practical, results-focused approach rooted in lived experience, addressing fire safety, education, water reliability, energy planning, Diablo Canyon, and housing.

My goal is to meet with individuals facing these challenges every day so I can show up for my community through direct conversations, local presence, and ongoing accessibility — not from a distance, but alongside the people affected.

Key Topics Discussed I believe that policy should be measured and delivered through real results – housing that actually gets built, energy policies that balance climate goals, and stable school funding.

On this podcast, I shared my viewpoints on housing and affordability, infrastructure, energy reliability, water supply, and stability in education. I also shared the importance of community and understanding the needs that the locals are currently facing.

During the Hometown Radio interview on KVEC, we discussed how these issues directly affect families and communities across Assembly District 30.
